Spark Unlimited and Codemasters have today released a batch of screenshots in preparation for the November release of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, the title in which the death of Winston Churchill in an alternate reality leaves Britain without its influential prime minister, and at the mercy of the Nazis in the years before the start of World War II.
Fast forward in time to 1952 (and presumably after conquering Europe) the German army has unleashed a surprise attack on the east coast of America, concentrating its efforts on New York in particular. Of course, the U.S isn't just going to fall to its knees and accept defeat, and so it launches into action in retaliation against its lands' foreign invaders.
The screenshots show the Big Apple in all sorts of disarray, from a wrecked Chrysler Building and forlorn-looking Brooklyn Bridge to intense firearm action on the city's streets where American soldiers can be seen squaring off against gas mask-adorned adversaries.
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty looks to offer a refreshing twist on the saturated WWII first-person shooter genre and is planned for release on the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC.
