"Yup, this is my usual guitar-playing position."
Beyond breaking into Activision's offices and threatening to repeat Ozzy Osbourne's famous bat-eating on-stage shenanigans unless you're given a blast on Guitar Hero III, the stark likelihood is that you'll have to just sit and wait patiently until its official release before receiving a chance to play.
However, for those who simply cannot wait, the kindly folk over at Activision have today announced that the Xbox 360 version of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground will also include a five-track Guitar Hero III demo.
Purchasing the skateboarding title on October 09 will grant you a whole two-week head start over those waiting for the same demo sample being released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The quintet of tracks (that can only be performed in the Desert Rock Tour venue) are as follows:
- Priestess - Lay Down
- Pearl Jam - Even Flow
- Tenacious D - The Metal
- Pat Benatar - Hit Me with your Best Shot
- Scorpions - Rock You Like a Hurricane
Pearl Jam's Even Flow has to be worth the purchase alone, GamerSquad reckons... even if attempting to sing along with gusto is a sure fire method for infecting yourself with laryngitis.
"Music is such a huge part of skateboarding culture and pairing the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo with Tony Hawk's Proving Ground makes perfect sense," said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane before heading off to the local half pipe.
Of course, you might be a little stuck if you want to go for the offer but don't like Tony Hawk games or already own a Guitar Hero peripheral (or an Xbox 360 for that matter). If that be the case, maybe you'd prefer to wait until its release on October 29 - it's out on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii too.
