Xbox 360, more games than PS3 consoles in the UK
That figure includes every bit of dross on Xbox Live Arcade we assume, given there’s nowhere near that amount of Xbox 360 titles on game store shelves—or is there?
As you’re all no doubt aware, Saturday 02 December, is the one-year anniversary of Xbox 360 in Europe, and its second Christmas season promises to be a booming success for Xbox 360, with consoles readily available at retail (dig at Wii and PlayStation 3 perhaps?) along with a host of new accessories such as the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel, Xbox Live Vision camera and Xbox 360 HD-DVD player (which is released in Europe on 01 December). Here comes the PR blurb…
“Xbox 360 offers the broadest and deepest selection of mind-blowing experiences this Christmas. We’re excited, just one year after launch, to be able to offer such a diverse games line-up offering exclusive new titles and established blockbusters,” said Chris Lewis, Regional Vice President, EMEA, Home and Entertainment Division, Microsoft.
Okay, so he’s got a point, the 360 does have a lot of titles, some worthwhile exclusives, and, of course, Xbox Live Arcade, but we at GamerSquad despise these overblown press releases that state figures that aren’t related to actual games available to purchase—they just irk us.
Was the launch of the 360 really an entire year ago? Time must fly when you’re a gamer!
