Microsoft has today released a patch to update the backwards compatibility of the Xbox 360. The new update adds nearly forty further titles to those that will now run without issue on the company's newest console and includes chart hits such as Panzer Dragoon Orta, FIFA 07 and Jet Set Radio Future.

The download required to bring your machine up to date should initiate automatically the next time you log onto Xbox Live. However, if your Xbox 360 isn’t connected to the Internet, don't worry, because Micrsoft has planned for you too. If you head over to the official Xbox website by clicking HERE, you will be able to download the file, burn it to a CD and run it in your console that way. If you're neither on Xbox Live nor own a CD burner, then we suggest asking a friend nicely to help you out!

Although the download is officially for North American consoles (either that or Great Britain's backwards compatibility list hasn't been added to yet), Eurogamer report that a test of Panzer Dragoon Orta saw it running on a PAL Xbox 360 without any problems.
