Mere months to wait now, but it doesn't make it any easier!
Ubisoft has today pulled the covers off a new set of images for the upcoming stealth-em-up adventure Assassin's Creed. And although the gaming world has known about the title since as far back as September 2006, GamerSquad for one still can't get enough little titbits of information about the project (in whichever form they may arrive).
The new batch of stills show the game's main character, Altair, a member of the Hashshashin assassins, going on his merry way through three cities located within Israel and Syria. Perhaps the most striking features of the screenshots are the number and related detail of the city inhabitants. Their inclusion is more than just for aesthetic purposes, however, since we know they have been programmed to react to Altair's movements (one shot, for example, shows a group of NPCs staring up at the hooded protagonist as he leaps between the houses above).
The title's draw distance is also mightily impressive; the screens here showing environments that stretch way into the distance. Assassin's Creed aims to give players the ultimate freedom to explore, so the prospect of spotting a hazy target in the distance and gradually making your way right to the very spot (by means akin to free running) is certainly an exciting one.
Excited? We are. Click below and suck it aaaall in.
Assassin's Creed will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on November 09.
