Design guru. Creator of Populous. And Microsoft fanboy?
Fanboy-baiting ahoy! Lionhead, um, head Peter Molyneux has only gone and claimed that Microsoft's Xbox Live service will ultimately have a greater impact on gaming than Nintendo's motion-sensing Wii Remote controller. The scamp!
"All I can say is that Microsoft is an incredibly smart company and I never fail to be impressed by just how clever they are," gushed Petey to CanalJuegos. "Don't forget this is the company which pioneered LIVE, which I believe will ultimately be far more impactful on video games in the long term than something like the Wii controller," he added.
A big claim, though not necessarily a surprising one, considering the
source; Molyneux's Lionhead Studios was snapped up by Microsoft in April 2006, and the studio's Fable 2 will appear exclusively on the Xbox 360.
Still, does he have a point? GamerSquad isn't so sure - while Xbox Live is a quite wonderful service (especially so when compared to its rivals), has it really bloated the number of new gamers in the same way that Nintendo's gaming wand has? We guess this one could run and run.
