The hardware sales figures for home videogame consoles since December last year will tell you that the Nintendo Wii has been selling like it is going out of fashion - funny that, because it's just what the head of the UK's Xbox division thinks is going to happen to Nintendo's little white, whirring bundle of joy:
"Nintendo are doing very well and they’ve done a great job at expanding the market in certain areas, but there is a limit in terms of what you can do with Wii and there is a very definite limit on the expandability of that product," he told MCV.
Thompson added that, contrary to popular belief, it is in fact Microsoft who has "absolutely been the innovative force" for this generation of game hardware.
Xbox Live's success is a no brainer, but expanding the gaming demographic as much as Nintendo has? Questionable, that one.
