Crysis rumours spark up yet again.
Funny that this news should break the day after Epic Games' Mark Rein stated that PC gaming technology (of which he claimed Crysis was currently the pinnacle) would be stifled for years to come by the profiteering of home consoles.
Moreover, gorgeous first-person shooter Crysis has been the subject of console speculation for eons now, but today brings the most substantial piece of information that perpetuates the hope that the game might just be heading to the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.
"Crysis could be on the 360 or PS3," said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. "It requires optimisation, that's what we've always communicated," he went on. "What you would not do is make Crysis on PS3, 360 and PC for a single shipping date, because we would lose the quality focus... So I say 'First PC version, then we'll see what happens'."
Yerli reaffirmed that there are currently no plans to bring Crysis to either of the next-gen console platforms, and that it would only be taken into consideration if the developer could make the game "number one there."
