"You know, I'm sure my hair was blonde yesterday."
Details leaked to IGN regarding the Sony PlayStation 3's Home service (its The Sims/Second Life-alike community portal for gamers) claim that while it is certainly impressive in parts, the firm is slacking on its promise to implement new features every month in the run-up to its release this autumn.
The user said of Home: "It's easy to go in and socialise and have a fun time doing it. It has a very open atmosphere, so you can pretty much walk up to anyone and start chatting with them." However, they noted that their avatar's hair colour would often randomly change without notice - never good for a style-conscious virtual world inhabitant.
Other than that, the sleuth reported that many of the features Sony promised at E3 including the ability to invite friends into games or to join others' are still lacking. Advanced wallpaper, music, photo and video options were also said to be unavailable.
Whether the timetabled slip-ups will delay Home's release at all is not yet known, but be sure that we'll keep you posted. Lord knows that the last thing Chris would want is to arrive at his new apartment only to discover that he couldn't hang a picture of Mr. Tiddles (that's his most favourite teddy bear, that is) for all his friends to see. Don’t let him down, Sony.
