Imagine how much more excited/annoying they’ll be with rumble.
Everybody’s ripped a chunk out of Sony for failing to include rumble feedback as standard in the SIXAXIS. It’s not exactly an unwarranted complaint - games such as MotorStorm already provide excellent gaming fare, but with the addition of rumble? Ye Gods! We would pass into the next life as contented men.
But will it happen? Well, Sony has recently denied that a revision of the current PlayStation 3 controller is in the works, but the latest edition of the 1UP podcast would beg to differ - indeed, the ‘casters reckon that Sony will be showing off a rumble-enabled SIXAXIS at the Tokyo Games Show, which commences in a couple of days.
Tread carefully, however, as this is pure speculation and hearsay for the time being. That said, it’s hardly an implausible rumour, especially after Sony made friends again with rumble specialists Immersion earlier this year; since then, it seems as though a revised SIXAXIS has always been more likely than not.
