The PS3's LittleBig savior in Japan?
The Mystic Meg of the videogames industry, Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter has concluded another psychic session from within his gypsy caravan and emerged with the following prediction: LittleBigPlanet could ignite PlayStation 3 hardware sales in Japan.
Next-Gen reports that Pachter said he was particularly impressed with LittleBigPlanet, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed and Konami's Metal Gear Solid at the recent Tokyo Game Show 2007, noting that "Each game appears to be well positioned to resonate with the Japanese audience." He added, "...We think that LittleBigPlanet will be a console seller in Japan."
LittleBigPlanet is currently in development by UK-based Meda Molecule. The title gives players a blank canvas on which to create a world of their own. Mass customisation is the aim of the game, with a dynamic graphics engine allowing players' imagination to flourish.
LittleBigPlanet joins the Earth in orbit (erm, is expected to be released on the PS3) in early 2008.
