The head of NCsoft has explained to GamesIndustry.biz that he feels PC gamers will make the jump to the Sony PlayStation 3 sooner or later, which is why the Massively Multiplayer Online publisher has decided to throw its weight behind the next-generation console.

“I think there is a difference between PC and console players but there's overlap as well," NCsoft Europe boss Geoff Heath said. "Our view long term is that people who have traditionally only played on PC will actually now start transitioning to PS3. Once they figure out what PS3 does, I think that take-up will get greater and greater."

The NCsoft boss went on to note that the software house has over nine subscription and 20 free MMOS in development, three or four of which we can expect to see reaching the PS3 in the future. He also added "some of our products would be great for PSP."

Are NCsoft correct in thinking that PC gamers will dump their desktops in droves for Sony's shiny black slab of goodness? GamerSquad isn't so sure.
