Of all the PlayStation 3’s Holiday titles, SingStar for PS3 is likely to prove one of the most important for Sony’s console. While the SingStar series may never have truly taken off Stateside, Europe (and to a lesser extent, Australia) adores the karaoke franchise, and past festive periods have seen the title fly off the shelves.

For many, the brand new ‘My SingStar’ online community and the expansive SingStore will only sweeten the deal even further, and both are features that should help in the forthcoming battle against Guitar Hero III and Harmonix’s quite awesome-looking Rock Band.

There’s also an impressively broad range of artists popping up in the PS3 version - possibly a more varied array than in any previous SingStar - and this diversity was only too apparent in the latest set of screenshots that appeared today.

Amongst others, they feature R&B Nelly-a-like Ne-Yo struggling to turn off a radio, poor old Thom Yorke stuck in a glass tank with water about to engulf him, Michael Stipe singing about being in a corner, back when he had hair. And Britney, looking naked, but not actually naked, back when she had hair. Truly something for everyone, no?
