The guilty parties.
Downloadable versions of PSone platformers MediEvil, Spyro 2 and Crash Bandicoot 2 have been removed from the PlayStation Store, after reports of bugs in the three titles reached Sony’s ears. All were originally released last Thursday on the PlayStation Network in Europe.
Initially, MediEvil was deemed to be the only game suffering from technical issues, with a crash-bug causing the game to freeze during the third level. Now though, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot have also been pulled from the download service, after users complained about gremlins in each.
Plans are already afoot to fix the games and get them back on the Network as soon as possible, says Sony. Meanwhile, those PlayStation 3 owners who handed over payment for any of the three faulty titles will be able to download them for free once they are fixed, though a date for the return of the games is currently unknown.
Those of you with any of the defective titles can keep track of the situation in a dedicated forum thread set up by Sony. More on this as we hear it.
