Maybe they'll return to complain that their PS3s don't play PS2 games. (Credit: joka2000) As Christmas approaches, consumers may be involved in a battle to get their hands on the three big players in the videogame console market (the Nintendo Wii in particular), but a pair of criminals in Belgium didn't want to chance the queues, instead raiding a warehouse to nick a total of 300 Sony PlayStation 3s.
Belgian newspaper De Standaard reports that two men armed with a machine gun and automatic pistol burst into a warehouse in the town of Vorst last Friday, overpowering the manager and tying him up. The hundreds of consoles were then packed into lorries - vehicles which sped off into the night.
The robbers have yet to be caught, so we'd be wary if a couple of shifty blokes in eye masks, stripy tops and a bag with the word "SWAG" on the side approach you in Belgium and offer you a discounted next-gen console.
We imagine Sony'll be able to track them down as soon as they're connected to the Internet, anyhow.
