Unsurprisingly, we feel the need to yell "It's behind you!"
News emerged yesterday that the PlayStation 3 version of the next instalment in the Alone in the Dark franchise would arrive at a later date than those lined up for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms. Now, however, publisher Atari has spoken out to deny anything of the sort.
The PS3 version of Alone in the Dark 5 didn't appear on the publisher's most recent release schedule, y'see. Apparently, though, the announcement this past Wednesday was all a bit of a misunderstanding, reports Eurogamer. The British gaming site states that Atari has told them the PS3 survival horror title should have appeared on the list all along but was somehow omitted. Silly Billies!
Alone in the Dark 5 was originally announced for the Xbox 360 and PC back in 2005, while the PS3 version was confirmed a year later. Developed by Infogrames, it continues to follow the story of Edward Carnby as he looks for answers to strange, supernatural occurrences in New York City's Central Park.
No official release date has been set for the game at this juncture, only a vague 'Coming Soon 2008'. Regardless of its arrival, GamerSquad has already bought extra pairs of underpants in preparation.
