Call yourself a GoW fan? Got an eBay account? Then, what are you waiting for?
In preparation for the release of Sony's PSP-specific God of War: Chains of Olympus (and no doubt wanting to take advantage of this fact to make a pretty penny via eBay), one artistic gamer has modified a Sony PlayStation Portable in a design fit for both the world's biggest God of War fan and the most frantic of online auction bidders.
"The PSP console itself was airbrushed with a deep metallic bronze in an 18-step process and then strategically tarnished to create a battle-worn armour look (like the chest plate worn in the game!)," enthuses its creator, eBay member 'freakf-ingtastik'.
Mr. indtastik goes on to say that: "The real chains and edge trim that surround the system were also copper leafed and aged. The face buttons were custom-made after-market copper replacements and are TOP quality." You heard the man, "TOP" quality.
For those impressed by little blinking lights (the number of hours GS editor Stevie admits to having spent beneath the bed sheets gazing, awe struck, at the backlit display of his Casio wristwatch isn’t even funny), the PSP’s transparent shoulder buttons house tiny red LEDs that are powered by the unit itself, whilst the machine has been upgraded to Sony's premium rechargeable power pack to ensure that said lighting does not infringe on the handheld's battery life.
At the time of writing, the mod and its case have reached an online bid of $1,225 USD. The auction doesn't end until June 29 though, so if you've got money to burn...
