Honestly, it plays games as well.
Although third parties are already offering as much, Sony Europe boss David Reeves has told Eurogamer that the PlayStation Portable's creators are still unsure about launching a hard drive for the handheld console, despite the upcoming release of the PSP Slim and Lite.
"I think that it certainly is not ruled out," Reeves said. "The only thing I would say is that the flash memory is simply so cheap - you can get an 8GB Memory Stick for under 100 Euros, and on 8GB you can get a lot of content."
He added that a time for Sony to decide whether to stick with flash memory or opt for hard disk space is a crucial one, something the firm would consider as 2008 unfolds.
Reeves also went on to reassure players that despite Sony's lack of gaming announcements at Leipzig (the Japanese electronics giant choosing to instead focus on video on-demand and satellite navigation software), that it was still investing in games software.
Good news, that is. Give us all a shout when you feel like you want to talk about it, David - we'll be waiting.
