One word - Hooray!
An intensive GamerSquad Googling session has revealed that a follow-up to the Sony PlayStation Portable's LocoRoco has now been 'confirmed' a total of three times - twice by Sony Computer Entertainment's corporate executive Phil Harrison, and another - the latest and 'proper-est' confirmation from LocoRoco director Tsutsomo Kouno.
Questioned at last week's Develop 07 by Joystiq concerning the rumours of a LocoRoco sequel, he said: "Yes, there will [be]. I'm thinking about a sequel for the PSP right now. I got a lot of feedback from players that they bought a PSP just to play LocoRoco so I feel like I have to make a sequel for them."
Why, thank you very much, Mr. Kouno.
If you're a PSP owner without a copy of 2006's critically acclaimed LocoRoco to call your own, then you really should consider making a well-advised investment. Despite its cutesy appearance, the title's innovative gameplay and thoughtful design makes it one of the most impressive videogaming experiences of the past couple of years - especially on the PSP, which is so often criticised for its reliance on PlayStation 2 ports.
