Whatever that is, it seems to be breaking free. Which, y'know, isn't good.
God of War: Chains of Olympus, it’s hard to dispute, looks eye-massagingly gorgeous - crisp, vibrant, atmospheric, and almost certainly the prettiest PSP game GamerSquad has yet seen. Which begs the question: just how has developer Ready at Dawn scrubbed those polygons up so nicely, in comparison to other game studios?
Answer: Chains of Olympus is one of the first titles that utilises the extra CPU power that was recently unlocked by the current version 3.5 firmware. That’s according to the title’s creative director, Cory Barlog, who wrote on Sony’s official blog: "Many people are asking if God of War: Chains of Olympus is going to take advantage of this. The short answer is yes we are!"
And that's great news, because if God of War: Chains of Olympus is what we can reasonably expect from the PSP a year down the line, then we can live with a slightly reduced battery life (the pay-off for having a higher CPU speed) if it means we get visuals of this quality.
Elsewhere in his blog entry, Barlog more or less confirmed that the game would be appearing at the E3 Media & Business Summit, in JUST. 15. DAYS. Can’t wait.
