THQ gets Steam powered.
It has been announced that THQ is the latest major publisher to jump aboard Valve's ever-growing Steam train, with the firm revealing that it will be making a number of its biggest videogaming assets available via the digital distribution service.
The titles already on sale as these words tumble onto the page are Relic’s Company of Heroes, Lore’s Titan Quest and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, and Pandemic’s Full Spectrum Warrior and Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers.
And later on down the line, gamers will be able to enjoy Supreme Commander, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and Warhammer 40,000.
"In the past couple years, THQ has established itself as one of today's premier PC publishers," said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve.
"This success has come through delivering truly innovative gameplay experiences in the most popular PC genres. It's great to finally be working together with THQ and its studio system and offer this award-winning line up to Steam's growing audience, which represents over 13 millions accounts."
Other major publishers already providing their wares through Steam include Eidos, Ubisoft, Capcom, and Activision.
