Introversion, creators of Darwinia, DEFCON and the upcoming Multiwinia, are a company well worth keeping an eye on. They create small, perfectly formed games that are genuinely unique in an age of monster franchises and ever-so-slightly different iterations on old ideas.
Subversion isn't due until 2009 but it's already got us fascinated. What is it? No idea really, beyond hints that it'll be an RTS of some kind, and involves staggeringly massive cityscapes. Chris Delay is lead programmer on the game and has parted the curtain a teensy bit to give us all a peek at how things are going. And, well, those cityscapes sure look lovely and we can't wait to find out what we get to do in/with/to them. Delay is certainly enthusiastic about the game - it'd be a worry if he wasn't - and describes it as Introversion's 'Magnum Opus'. We will continue to watch with keen, possibly obsessive, interest.
