Audiosurf has been gathering an increasingly large amount of buzz over the past few weeks, and that buzz just became a deafening - and kinda groovy - roar. The game is now available for pre-order on Steam for a mere US$8.95 and, thrillingly, comes bundled with the rather awesome Orange Box soundtrack. We're not sure if you're able to burn a copy of the soundtrack for your ambulatory listening pleasure, or if it's locked into the game, but either way it's a very neat addition to what promises to be a terrific little game.
Basically, the game can take any piece of music and turn it into a rhythm-based track that you race along, collecting coloured blocks that match the beat of the song. Doof-heavy Belgian hardcore happy handbag hip-house or 14th century lute medleys, the choice is yours, and you can then compare scores with like-minded friends and an online community scoreboard. It all sounds like a huge amount of musically twitchy fun, and will be available to play on February 15th.
