Christmas lights and Wii don't mix
No, it’s not a tale of burglars stealing Wiis from under festively decorated trees; though in this day and age we expect to see such abysmal tales of wrongdoing in the week following Santa’s visit (sadly). In actuality, this story concerns the Wiimote not coping particularly well with all those flickering Christmas tree lights of holiday cheer.
As you’re probably aware, even candles can cause havoc with the Wiimote and its accompanying sensor bar. And, as such, reports have begun heading into various online gaming press sites stating that the flashing lights of Christmas trees have caused Wii cursors to jig about all over TV screens, or even that the Wiimote itself isn’t detected by the sensor bar.
This is bad news for those with restrictive studio apartments that lack the required room to swing a cat—or a Wiimote. If you are one of those unfortunate enough to be experiencing these problems, why not try switching off those Christmas tree lights and see whether things calm down (Hey, that’s a good idea—Ed).
