Datel's Freeloader program has just been released for the Wii. The software lets you skirt around the restrictions of region-coded Wii games and run unfettered through the gobal gaming garden, scooping up armfuls of obscure Japanese RPGs and thumbing your nose at ridiculously delayed release schedules. It's going to be very interesting to see how Nintendo react to this. They can nobble the whole thing with a swift system update, or go along with what their customers really want and let it flourish. They couldn't really do anything about the old Gamecube version of Freeloader so this could well be the first time Nintendo have to get all strict and huffy.
