Tubby and Speedy prepare to do battle for the first time.
SEGA has reached the next destination on its journey to deliver its Olympic torch (that'll be Mario & Sonic at the Olympics) to gaming stores. The pass over involved the release of firm details on the upcoming Nintendo Wii and DS sports title.
There'll be 20 Olympic events in all, while each of the characters will have their own strengths and weaknesses. Yep, you guessed it - Mario is an all-rounder, Sonic is speedy, and Bowser is a fat lump that never gets picked for any of the sprinting disciplines.
Modes include single and multiplayer in individual events, or you'll have the choice of stringing a number of them together. Succeeding at said events involves gesturing with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck in a number of ways, one of which involved pumping your arms like a nutcase to propel your character forward in the 100m dash.
There's also a quiz mode and mini-games that unlock all the history of past Olympic games. Hopefully 1992 Barcelona theme will be in there - what a belter.
