We all knew it was going to happen and imagine there would have been jobs on the line if it didn't happen, but it has been confirmed that Rock Band is coming to the Wii. Various sources have reported that during a fiscal results conference call EA big wig John Riccitiello said something like 'what's probably the most interesting piece right now is the coming launch on the Wii of Rock Band.' No launch dates, prices, features or anything else at all, but until an official press release comes out of EA, that's all there is.

The only downside to all this is that for months now we've had the perfect headline waiting for the announcement that Rock Band wouldn't be migrating to the Wii, which was (ahem) "Rock Banned on the Wii." See how many levels that works on? At least two. And now... useless. The only thing that can make up for this is an absolutely pristine Wii version of the game, with all multiplayer, online and downloadable content options intact. We shall see.
