Queue to see 'celebrities' make asses of themselves playing Wii sports
It’s always the same; if you’re going to have ‘celebrities’ at a console launch they usually include those who actually game, those who want some free limelight, and dopey models who wouldn’t know the difference between an Xbox and a sandwich maker if their very lives depended on it.
Not to stray from that traditionally shallow formula, HMV in Oxford Street, London, has a plethora of ‘celebrities’ showing up to play Wii Sports as the crowds wait outside in the freezing cold to nab a Wii. The supposed celebs involved at launch include football legend (in the eyes of some), ex Arsenal and England international Ian Wright; ex Wimbledon champion Pat Cash (if he doesn’t win Wii tennis that might be worth the wait), hard-hitting Ricky Hatton (likewise for Wii boxing)…and, um, Jodie Kidd (see: sandwich maker knowledge in a D-Cup).
There is some good news for those London-bound Wii consumers though. If you’re one of the first 200 people to purchase The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess from the HMV store, you’ll receive a swanky tin to put the game in…woohoo! The Wii launch event kicks off at 11pm on 07 December—be there, or be elsewhere!
