"See, I don't need to move my hands at all to have fun!"
When recently quizzed about the Nintendo Wii and its 'Wiimotes' during a recent chat with MTV, Kaiser Bill is quoted as saying, "There's room for innovation (in the games industry), but moving that controller around...it's something that's not mainstream for most games."
Opting to be slightly less of a drool hound compared to Microsoft's Peter Moore, whose recent quotes regarding the Wii seemingly cast him as being in love with Nintendo's latest piece of gaming hardware, Gates preferred to recall the Side Winder Freestyle Pro, a motion-sensitive controller that Microsoft released some time ago but without any notable commercial success.
"It's tough because sometimes you move the controller, and you don't (mean) to fly into the ground. You just want to put the controller down. People aren't that good at totally standing still. Even pilots actually sit in a chair when they do their flying. So there's a lot to be learned about these controllers."
There's no stopping the Wii-train, Billy. Get used to the fact that Nintendo's 'the way we play' approach may well sink Microsoft and Sony over the coming years.
