Quite an achievement considering his lack of hands.
Another day, another Nintendo DS pet sim, and this one’s about dolphins. Dolphin Friends is the work of developer Starfish Studios, and is being brought to us by 505 Games this November.
Aimed at younger types, the title gives gamers the chance to play simple ball games with your finned friend, feed it the right foods, stroke its head with the stylus when it gets things right, and beat it BLACK AND BLUE with a belt when it doesn’t. We made one of those up - can you tell which?
After the feeding and the ball-throwing and the head-stroking are done with, it’s time to teach the thing some tricks and condemn the poor creature to a life of entertaining crowds of gawping school-children, whose reaction tells you how well you’ve trained your seabound pet.
The tricks themselves do sound a tad tame so far - supposedly, you can use the stylus to drag the head right for a right turn, left for a left turn, or draw a circle for the dolphin to swim around. It’s to be hoped that jumping through Flaming Hoops ‘O Death also makes the final cut.
