How are the stocks in your town this Christmas?
Friends of GamerSquad situated across the UK are this week having all manner of problems getting their mitts on a Nintendo DS Lite, which ties in with other stories we’re getting from Australia where consumers are also being deprived DS Lite availability and are instead being met with the old ‘sold out, but expecting more stock soon’ problem.
The Nintendo DS has been shifting astounding unit amounts over the past few weeks, and it would certainly appear that all of those late-night advertisements on UK screens have done their jobs. The total number of DS units sold across Europe is now topping eight 8.5 million, with recent unit sales spiking that figure out.
Needless to say, Nintendo Europe and Nintendo UK are probably grinning from ear to ear right now, especially given that current Wii sales in the European region are bubbling around the 350,000 mark, following a fabulous week of open sale and a launch weekend that saw 325,000 units of the little white miracle flying from retail shelves.
