While it is good to have Gears of War 2 finally confirmed, and it'll no doubt be a cracking game full of shooty fun, we're a little disappointed with the debut trailer. Gravelly voice over? Check. Half-arsed attempt to conceal what the game actually is until the end of the trailer, even though everybody knows? Check. Contrasty, pre-rendered visuals that constantly fade to black and give little indication of the actual gameplay? Check. Maybe we're being too critical, or got up too early or something, but we already feel like we've seen this countless times before. Sigh. Still, if there's anything that can lighten our mood, it's the promise of hand-to-hand chainsaw duels and lots of splattery alien giblets ruining the wallpaper. Nice.
