You wouldn't have been mad to assume that the first game from Steven Spielberg's collaboration with EA would be some kind of story-based adventure about Tom Hanks fighting aliens during WWII. Wrong! Turns out Lord Spielberg has come up with Boom Blox, a block puzzle game that actually looks to be quite good fun - Jenga with dynamite seems an apt description. We'd love to know how hands-on Spielberg was with the game's development. Did he just send in a one word memo - Blox! - and let the EA peons work their magic, or was he up late banging out code and getting cappucinos for the team? Either way, he does seem to have tapped into a vein of innocent destructiveness from our younger days, when we spent hours making wood block castles just so we could gleefully flatten the whole thing in seconds, and then unleash Catzilla on the remains.
