If you thought Pac-Man was first unleashed onto an unsuspecting public in May 1980, one 'Doktor A' has news for you. In fact, it's been around for well over over a century:
"When this game was first released in 1880 it was so hugely popular in taverns and inns that the bank of England was forced to mint more threepenny bits to keep up with demand. The game was created by messrs Nam & Nam and Co. as a novelty pastime for the masses. Outdoing the previous top public house game of Shove Ha’penny. (Polyurethane Resin, Lead, Chestnut wood, Brass, Steel, Polymer clay, Styrene, Paper, Found objects)."
Okay, we kid. The toy was created as part of a custom toy exhibition and is entitled The Secret History of Video Games: Pac Gentleman.
Still, we like.
