Steer, drive, whack and volley with bits of plastic
On the off chance you’ve missed this cute Wii add-on, we thought we’d highlight it here for you. The Wii Sports Pack is essentially moulded sections of plastic that clip onto the Wii remote, thus turning it more into whatever sporting implement you need while playing Wii games, including a tennis racquet, golf club, and steering wheel.
It looks cute, but we’re not exactly sure it will add anything overly exciting to the general gaming pleasure provided by the Wii. If anything, those new to the Wii probably won’t want to add any other forms of weight to the controller. Furthermore, GT Pro Series and Monster 4X4 also come with their own steering adapters—so you’re really only going to be paying for the club and racquet if you stop and think about it.
The Wii Sports Pack, which is made by Joytech, is scheduled for release 15 December in the UK and will carry a retail price of £19.99. The Wii Sports Pack doesn’t appear to be on sale in the US at this moment in time, though you can purchase the Ubisoft Wii Steering Wheel for $19.99—though that seems a little silly it one comes free with certain driving titles anyway. The Ubisoft Wii Steering Wheel is black, which looks nice alongside Ubi’s range of black Wii remotes, but probably not so cool with the standard retail white models.
