This motion-sensing stuff could catch on, y'know...
After carrying out in-depth research for over a year now, GamerSquad's minions are back with a revelation: motion-sensing videogames are THE big news of 2007. What do you mean you already knew that? Anyway, seeing as that's the case, a firm by the name of NEO (best known for its gaming flash drives) thought it might be a good time to jump on the bandwagon.
The company has created a device for the Sony PlayStation Portable that allows the handheld to detect movement, likely using the same techno-wizardry as the Wii Remote's accelerometer. Just pop the miniature gadget into the PSP's earphone jack and you're ready to rock...
...Except that it won't work with any retail software releases. NEO has created the tool for homebrew programmers who fancy implementing the technology into their indie games.
There's no doubting it's a clever piece of kit, though, so hopefully an established developer will snap it up.
