Expensive embarrassment! (Credit: HotSeat) Are you a fan of racing games? A real fan? Do you buy them all? Do you love them all, and think they’re the bee’s knees? Well, if that’s the case then you could do far worse than shell out for the Hotseat Racer GTX racing cockpit. There’s a few of these on the market at the moment, but the GTX takes things to the next level, giving the driving fan a secure and realistic seating position.
The GTX also comes with an LCD mounting arm—so if you have an LCD screen you can mount it and stand it in front of the main chassis. Speaking of the main chassis, it’s not the coolest looking thing around, but it does come with a fully mounted 5.1 speaker and subwoofer system to aurally boost the experience. The subwoofer is located to the rear of the chassis, underneath the seat, so you’ll be able to feel every rumble as you scream across the virtual tarmac.
There are two different versions of the Hotseat GTX to choose from. There’s the bare bones version that sells for $700 and comes without the LCD mounting stand. And for a whopping $849 you can have that mounting thrown in to the package.
