What's cooler than being cool? Yep, ice cool.
The Nintendo Wii hardly has a reputation for overheating. In fact, compared to the abundance of Xbox 360 complaints (and of baked PS3's to a lesser extent), Nintendo's little white machine is as cool as an eskimo (sorry, inuit) in a refrigerator.
Still, given that third parties seem to have invented a ton of mostly useless Wii accessories already, the arrival of Brando's Console Cooler is by no means a surprise. The device replaces the Wii's plain grey default stand and includes a connection cable that slots into one of the console's rear USB ports to access the required power. Its high velocity fan then works its magic to keep the Wii chilled and apparently prolongs the life of the gaming machine's core components.
The transparent stand also houses a flashy blue light that glows (a la display-stand chic) while the Wii is powered up, and it also features a pair of plastic base 'wings' to keep the Wii standing up sturdily.
The default Wii stand is, of course, still more than adequate for a machine that generally doesn't overheat, but for around $20 USD the Console Cooler offers an alternative that actually looks quite cool (hohoho) in a boy-racer-suped-up-neon-bumper kind of way.
