No wires, so you can truly rock out!
A head-moshing announcement for fans of Guitar Hero now, with news that RedOctane will be releasing an official wireless Guitar Hero controller in North America during November. GamerSquad is duly ecstatic at the prospect of wireless guitar thrashing around the office without worrying about tripping over a cord mid-chord (yukyuk).
Priced at a fairly respectable $59.99, the new wireless guitar controller will be fully compatible with Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2, which is also set for a US and Euro-pee-on release in November. RedOctane has also stated that the new controllers will be white, as opposed to the existing black and red Gibson SG controllers we presently use.
“RedOctane has long been committed to offering high-quality videogame accessories for gamers,” said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane. “Being able to give our fans an option to rock the wireless guitar controller was definitely a priority for us, and it’ll provide another exciting experience for players to achieve rock star status!”
However, there’s currently no confirmation as to whether the wireless controller will be any different in aesthetic design (we’ll be sure to let you know when that info presents itself). But, perhaps more worrying for us poor saps over in Europe, is that RedOctane hasn’t confirmed (or denied) whether the wireless controller will be available outside of North America—surely it will be, though, surely!
GamerSquad will be throwing a sizeable tantrum if that’s not the case, as well as badgering RedOctane’s PR to get a free sample sent our way.
