Making games accessible for all?
Tickets for the third annual Videogame Expo (held between November 02-04) are now available to purchase reports Next-Gen, at a price that reflects the slogan that "no gamer should be left out." A three-day adult pass for the event, organised by Lunar Tide Communications, can be obtained online for as little as $25 USD or for $30 USD on the day. Day tickets cost $12.50 USD each, children over seven will be charged $7.50 USD, while the little 'uns below that age are admitted for free.
"VGXPO's mantra is that 'no gamer should be left out'. We want to make VGXPO accessible to everyone. To do this, we've priced single day tickets at just $12.50 when you buy them online, ($15.00 at the door), and kids prices are discounted," stated Ed Fleming, founder and executive director of VGXPO. "Our convention is all about gamers, and we have set ticket prices so that the entire family can attend."
The expo exists to showcase the latest titles, as well as allowing the public to meet industry insiders and compete together in videogaming tournaments. The event is also seen as fairly lucrative for companies that sign up for a section of floor space on the show floor. Held in the Pennsylvania Convention Center, it allows developers to interact with a wide spectrum of their consumer base on a one-to-one basis - potentially a very strong marketing tool.
It costs just $20 USD a square foot for companies to exhibit their wares as VGXPO, with packages for videogame firms available for under $199 USD.
"We've developed VGXPO to provide you and your company with the highest possible return on investment - VGXPO's value proposition is designed to drive high impact at the lowest possible cost," states Fleming. "If you look at the cost-benefit, VGXPO adds up - there's no reason why your company shouldn't be there."
