Rock Band: Now rocking out in non-HD.
An EA press release has revealed that Rock Band, the multi-instrumental strum/bang/sing-‘em-up, will be coming out on the PlayStation 2, as well as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Rock Band creator Harmonix has already enjoyed phenomenal success on the PS2 through its two Guitar Hero games, and the appearance of Rock Band on the popular platform is sure to further boost sales of what promises to be a pricey product.
Talking of which, we’re still none the wiser when it comes to a price for the game, though at the Leipzig Game Conference Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos admitted that Rock Band wouldn’t see the light of day in Europe until first quarter 2008.
On a brighter note, ten new songs have been announced for the title. Included in the new tracks are Clash classic "Should I Stay or Should I Go", early Radiohead hit "Creep", and "Here It Goes Again" from YouTube sensations OK Go. Rolling Stones’ "Gimme Shelter", Deep Purple’s "Highway Star", Faith No More’s "Epic", Smashing Pumpkins’ "Cherub Rock", Beastie Boys’ "Sabotage", Jet’s "Are You Gonna Be My Girl", and Nine Inch Nails’ "The Hand That Feeds" complete the list of newcomers.
