Here's Piyotama. How can you resist a face like that?
Still peeved at the removal of a trio of glitchy PSOne games from the Sony PlayStation 3's online download service? GamerSquad misses Spyro dreadfully too, but at least there's Piyotama to console you until the purple dragon and his chums return.
Released on the PlayStation Network in North America today, JapanStudio's offering is a simple puzzle title in which descending eggs of various hues huddle at the bottom of the playing screen. The player's objective is to slide any individual line to the left or right in order to form diagonal egg lines of the same colour.
A shake of the SIXAXIS pad also (somewhat less logically) shakes up the order of the objects on the off chance that the eggs will settle into a more advantageous position. When four hatchlings are successfully aligned, another jiggle of the controller helps aid the birthing process for the shell's inhabitants. Um, nice.
In addition to the single-player mode, Piyotama offers a global multiplayer experience complete with leaderboards so that the ultimate king of egg-ordering can officially be crowned - a regal gaming title that any self respecting player would want to be bestowed with, we're sure you'll agree.
We might be eggagerating a bit if we claimed this $2.99 USD game to be the most cracking eggstravaganza (groan - Ed) on the PSN, but usually we only get to use such witty puns at Easter, and we just couldn't resist.
