Yeah, GameOn! It's a celebration - bring party hats!
CMP Technology has today unveiled plans for its inugural "PC GameOn" event, the only consumer-facing show of its kind - and one that gives PC lovers access to the gaming spotlight in preference to home console owners. The whole shebang is set to take place on September 08-09 at the Austin Convention Center in Texas.
Produced in association with founding sponsors Alienware and Dell, PC GameOn will feature new and pre-release PC games, GDC-quality conference content, and the chance for the public to 'pwn teh n00bs' in various gaming tournaments. The PC showcase hopes to provide a forum for PC enthusiasts to converge in order to discuss their beloved machines, whilst also serving to highlight the technical achievements in visual design, A.I. programming and physics that the PC has often pioneered.
“There is incredible innovation happening in the PC gaming industry, including great technology enhancements on Dell XPS and Alienware systems, as well as unbelievable advances in game development,” said Susan Kittleson, Director of Games Marketing at Dell. “To be able to provide the attendees real-time access to high performance gaming rigs and the hottest PC games is an exciting challenge that will underscore the commitment that is building in the digital industry, and in particular PC gaming."
PC GameOn will take place in ballrooms A-C of the Austin Convention Center, Saturday and Sunday 08-09, from 12.00pm - 17.00pm.
Admission is $30 USD at the door, or $25 USD if booked in advance of the event.
