Too… much… information… head… exploding…
Holy crapola, Nintendo dropped a MEGATON on us all at its Fall conference call this morning, announcing a shedful of fresh games for both the DS and Wii, as well as sparkly new details on the likes of Mario Kart Wii, and the first titles for the new WiiWare download service.
Let’s begin with the new stuff, which includes Super Mario Stadium Baseball for the Wii, a - yesss! - DS version of Intelligent Systems’ superlative Fire Emblem games (screens below), and Monster Hunter 3 from the lovely people at Capcom. Details on all of these are sketchy currently, so keep an eye out in the coming weeks for more.
In addition to these, there’s a couple of big-name releases planned for the new WiiWare download service to strengthen Nintendo's already intimidating range of exclusives. Pokémon Farm will link up to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on the DS, while Square Enix will be bringing us the multi-coloned Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Small King and the Promised Country next March. Catchy.
To finish with, two random details that didn’t really fit anywhere else: The much-discussed Wii Fit will be launching in Japan this December, for a price of ¥8,800 ($75 / £37 / €53 - and yes, that’s including the fancy-pants Balance Board). And Mario Kart on the Wii will have, of all things, BIKES! Egads!
Anyway, more as it arrives, folks.
