Yet another sucky edition of Sonic-based ring collection?

After a couple of fairly barren next-gen weeks on the new release front, this week’s selection of new titles actually includes a smattering of Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 3 goodness. Sadly, it still collectively pales beside releases for the Nintendo DS, PC, and PlayStation Portable, but at least it’s a slow return to form and a sign that the next-gen consoles are beginning – finally – to pick up the slack.

So, the cream of this week’s crop arriving on both sides of the Atlantic sees the like of Real Time Worlds’ action title Crackdown (and its Halo 3 multiplayer beta invitation) arrive on the Xbox 360, while Q*Bert joins the PlayStation 3 ranks. From a strictly North American perspective, US gamers also get to enjoy a double helping of SEGA releases, with Sonic and the Secret Rings on the Nintendo Wii, and Virtua Fighter 5 on the PlayStation 3.

North American heldheld, PC-based, and current-gen systems (shouldn’t that be ‘old-gen’ now?) get to add the likes of Metal Slug Anthology (PSP), Micro Machines V4 (DS), Sam & Max Episode 4: Abe Lincoln Must Die! (PC), and Arena Football: Road to Glory to their already swollen portfolios.

European gamers can expect to see titles including the epic Final Fantasy XII (PS2), Infernal (PC), and Rainbow Six: Vegas (PSP) amongst others.

North American new releases:

19 February:
American Billiards (PC)
American Conquest Anthology (PC)
Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner (PSP)
UFO: Extraterrestrials (PC)
War Front: Turning Point (PC)

20 February:
Arena Football: Road to Glory (PS2)
Backyard Baseball 2007 (PC)
Crackdown (Xbox 360)
F-24 Stealth Fighter (DS)
Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja (DS)
Maelstrom (PC)
Metal Slug Anthology (PSP)
Micro Machines V4 (DS)
NBA Street Homecourt (Xbox 360)
Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii)
Supreme Commander (PC)
Trioncube (DS)
Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3)

22 February:
Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich (PC)
flOw (PS3)
Q*Bert (PS3)
Sam & Max Episode 4: Abe Lincoln Must Die! (PC)

European new releases:

22 February:
Q*Bert (PS3)

23 February:
Blitz: The League (Xbox 360)
Crackdown (Xbox 360)
Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action (Wii)
