If I were ever to write one of those tacky personal adverts, it may well include the line ‘Girl gamer, loves Lara Croft’, because despite the many feminist arguments against the chesty heroine, she kicks much gaming ass.

Those of you who also love Lara and are looking forward to Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be pleased to view this new trailer, which harkens back to those early games, where dinosaurs, bears, and bats took centre stage—and Lara, concerned conservationist and archaeologist that she is—duly shot them dead.

It’s a little gutting that Lara’s Anniversary edition is only going to see an initial release on the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 2—we’d much rather that Lara strut her stuff on a next-gen machine too. Ah well, can’t have everything, eh? Plus, Lara will always be the baby of the PS2 to some degree—though she’ll always be the baby of the Sega Saturn to me.
