Gaming and gadgeting fingers still crossed
A couple of days ago we reported on the Kim family, missing in the US for over a week. Well, now some good news and some bad.
Search and rescue teams have found wife Kati Kim (30) and the Kim’s two young children, Sabine (4) and Penelope (7 months), alive and well near their stranded vehicle in the wilderness of southwest Oregon. All three were subsequently airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and, while Penelope was held overnight for observation, they were all said to be in surprisingly good health considering the nine-day ordeal.
However, James Kim (35), the senior gadget editor at CNET, left the family early on Saturday morning to go in search of help and sadly he has still not been found. A pair of pants belonging to James were found by searchers on a track leading down to a remote canyon, and rescuers are now hoping they were left as a marker and not because he is suffering severe hypothermia, which can cause people to disrobe through a false sense of warmth.
We’ve still got our collective GamerSquad fingers crossed for James, as has the entire gadget and games community. He sounds like a very resourceful chap, so we’re all hoping for a quick and positive outcome as the search continues.
