Another potential blow for Sony and PS3 owners?
If the words of Castlevania's creator Koji Igarashi are anything to go by, then the next 3D version of the popular whip crackin' adventure game may well be heading exclusively to the Microsoft Xbox 360.
"I will be working on a DS [Castlevania game]" Igarashi told Game Informer, "but I am thinking of moving to the home consoles for the future. I will continue to use 2D for the DS version, but I'm still trying to figure out which console to do the home console versions. I think the Xbox 360 would be the best platform for the U.S. market," he revealed.
The Konami employee explained that since North America is Castlevania's biggest market, it made sense to plump for the Xbox 360 over the Sony PlayStation 3. He said it was because "the PS3 isn't doing well everywhere in the world." However, he did confess that undoubtedly large sales of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 could boost the popularity of the machine enough to make a PS3 Castlevania viable.
There's no word at all on the next-generation Castlevania, but an announcement on the series' next 2D outing is, Igarashi says, going to happen soon.
