Best Hardware? We're not telling. Enjoy this tropical view instead.
As with all things designed to keep us coming back for more, the guys and gals over at GameTrailers.com have been steadily building up the levels of expectancy regarding their “Best of E3” awards showcase.
While we’ve had nominations and winners in categories such as Best Puzzle/Parlour Game, Best Innovation, and Best Category That No One Is Interested In, the awards have gradually addressed gaming elements that deserve scrutiny, praise, and criticism.
Indeed, GT.com openly bashed Sony in the Most Disappointing category last time out, knocking the Japanese electronics giant for its pseudo-PlayStation 3 price cut, its uninspiring PSP redesign, and its lacklustre E3 press conference. Furthermore, the awards have jabbed fanboys betwixt the ribs too, omitting first-person shooter nominations for Halo 3 and Killzone 2 because neither had playable content at E3 – which subsequently left the Best FPS award going to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
And this latest batch of GameTrailers E3 Awards coverage is probably going to stoke the fires of fanboy ‘discussion’ as well… especially in the Best Hardware category.
That aside, you can look forward to a whole host of nominees and winners in categories such as Best Wii game, Best Trailer, Best Third-Person Shooter, Best RPG, and Best Sports Game.
