Old drivers. You need new ones. (Credit: pingnews) Crysis has been set free, and is no doubt being accompanied by the high-pitched whine of thousands of PCs struggling to take the strain. At the time of writing, the game's sitting on a healthy Metacritic score of 93%, so Crytek's offices must be knee-deep in contented, sleeping game developers.
To accompany the game's release, Nvidia have just issued new video card drivers (Forceware beta 169.09) for anyone who's running Crysis with a Geforce 6, 7 or 8 series card. Fair enough, video card drivers aren't the most exciting thing in the world, but they are necessary. A spanky new driver can often be the difference between a smooth and creamy gameplaying experience or a tangled pile of smouldering, boot-dented metal, so it's worth the minor detour before you get stuck into the game.
